Obituary for Charles Mason Deal Mr. Charles Mason Deal, age 75, passed away December 23, 2018 at Atrium Health-Northeast. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Sharon Baptist Church. A service celebrating his life will follow at 12:30 pm with Rev.
James Strickland officiating. An inurnment with military honors will be held at 2 pm at National Cemetery in Salisbury. Charles was born September 19, 1943 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Haskell and Virginia Campbell Deal.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Margaret Helms. Charles served our country in the US Army and the Army Reserves for over 24 years. He retired from Overnight Transportation and was a former security guard at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, and the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center, jobs he thoroughly enjoyed.
He was a very dedicated and active member of Sharon Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and taught vacation bible school. Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Joel Deal of Salisbury and Mike Deal of Charlotte; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and church family who will miss Charles dearly.
