Melvin Lee Hartsell, 86, of Oakboro, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord. Mr. Hartsell was born July 20, 1932 to the late Grover Cleveland and Dallie Helms Hartsell. In addition to his parents, he was also proceeded in death by an infant brother, Morris.

Melvin was a dedicated member of West Oakboro Baptist Church, where he served the Lord faithfully. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 pm, Friday, November 9, 2018 at West Oakboro Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev.

Keith Austin and Rev. Joe Smith. Burial will conclude at the Oakboro Cemetery, located at 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro.

Survivors include: wife, Marlene Hartsell; son, Michael and wife, Kimberly Hartsell; daughter, Anita and husband, Allen McCraven; grandchildren, Erin Hartsell, Jacob and wife, April McCraven; great-grandchildren, Ashlan and Jordyn McCraven; sisters, Terry and husband, Patrick Hunt and Sheila and husband, Jerry Austin. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the family.
