OBITUARY Lloyd “Snake” “Grandfather” Engler February 13, 1950 – January 12, 2019 Funeral services will be held for Lloyd “Snake” “Grandfather” Engler on Wednesday, January 16, 2018, 12:00 pm at Ourso Funeral Home officiated by Brother Ray Hebert, S.C. Visitation will take place in the morning starting at 9:00 am until services begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at St. Gabriel Church Cemetery. Mr. Engler, age 68, resident of Prairieville, passed away on January 12, 2019.

He served in the U.S. Army as a medic and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He worked for Gulf States Utilities for 40 years and also as a butcher at Bobby Wintz Meat market. Mr. Engler enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending his grandkids’ functions and activities.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Theresa Saucier Engler; son, Travis Engler and wife Angela; daughter, Tessa Engler Schwartz and husband Anton; grandchildren, Taylor Engler, Allison Rice, Aaron Rice, Gavin Schwartz, Anderson Rice, Chase Schwartz, Kendall, Brooklyn and Harley Schwartz; brother, Louis Engler and wife Laura; sisters, Jo Anne Simoneaux and husband Wesley, Linda Mason and husband Dennis and brothers-in-law, Landry Saucier, David Saucier and wife Christine. He was preceded in death by his father, Brad Engler; mother, Joan Weeden; father-in-law, Elbre Saucier; mother-in-law, Minnie Saucier; brother-in-law, Wayne Cubbage and sister-in-law, Suk Saucier.
