He was born December 9, 1940 in Tynan, Texas to Reymundo and Celestina Gutierrez. He was a Vietnam Era Army veteran and retired from CCAD as an aircraft mechanic.

Mr. Gutierrez was preceded in death by his parents, a son; Rodney Gutierrez; 2 brothers; Andy and Fino Gutierrez and 2 son-in-laws; Juan Martinez and Valerio Hernandez. He is survived by his wife of 53 years; Angelita Gutierrez; 2 daughters: Laura Gutierrez and Nadine Gutierrez. 1 son; Abel Gutierrez; 3 sisters: Amelia Benavidez, Enriqueta Ruiz and Rosa Montez.

4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. December 2, 2018 at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. December 3, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church.

Interment with Military Honors will be in Cenizo Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joshua Gutierrez, Brandon Gutierrez, Dominic Aparicio, Damian Aparicio, Ty Gutierrez, Ernie Gutierrez, Trey Montez and Chris Ruiz.
