Obituary for Lois M. Brandt Lois M. Brandt, nee Klinkhammer, 90, of Glenview, passed away June 6, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Henry J. Brandt for 66 years; loving mother of Deborah, Christine and the late Gary (Judy) Brandt; cherished grandmother of Lauren, Carly, Amber and Kori; proud great grandmother of Lyla Rose, Kellan, Garryn and Irelynn; dear sister in law of Irma (Zig) Sokolnicki; fond aunt of Wendy and Christopher. Lois graduated from the Augustana School of Nursing after attending Evanston Township High School.

She married Hank and they became the proud parents of their 3 children. They moved from the city of Chicago to suburban Glenview. She volunteered at her children’s schools and went back into nursing at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

She joined a team of medical professionals to start the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She retired after 20 years of caring for those babies. Upon retirement, she took art classes and painted landscapes with watercolors and acrylics.

Lois was a strong woman and an inspiration to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed entertaining and celebrating holidays and birthdays. Lois and Hank enjoyed traveling and yearly visits to Minnesota and Florida accompanied by family and made many new friends.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Animal Shelter, 2974 Milwaukee Ave. , Northbrook, IL 60062.
