Obituary for Lois Rhodes Lois M. Rhodes (Granny) of Berlin, WI passed away peacefully on July 23, 2018. Lois was born March 18, 1926. She grew up in the Woodstock, Illinois.
After her graduation from Woodstock High School, she married the love of her life, Monte E. Rhodes Sr. on April 26, 1943. They enjoyed 52 entertaining, wonderful years together. Granny enjoyed gardening, a little travel after retirement, camping and getting together as many grandchildren as possible to always take with them on weekends.
This is one of many memories of the best summer events they truly cherished together. Lois had several hobbies that included crocheting, making quilts and table runners for all seasons for family and friends. Her most cherished hobby was making beautifully decorated cakes for friends, family and a few weddings along the way.
She enjoyed her time volunteering at Berlin Food Pantry and of course helping out at the Grace Lutheran church until her health would not permit her. She also had a group of ladies on Thursdays evenings she met up with at church and sat around doing whatever craft they enjoyed and reminiscing about any subject you can imagine. Lois is survived by her children and their families; Monte Rhodes Jr. (Sharon) children, Tammy, Teresa, Tracy and their families.
Thomas Rhodes (Donna) children: Tommy, Colleen, Kathleen, Loreen and their families. James (Lorraine) Rhodes (deceased) children: James Jr, Michele, Jeremy and their families. Rita Fenske (Edgar) children: Russel, Shelly, Rabecca, Rachel and their families.
Carol Kuklinski (Gary) children: Carrie, Joel, Kurt and their families. Lois is also survived by her sister Joan Gibson Schroeder of Woodstock, Illinois. Lois is preceded in death by her loving husband Monte Sr., her son James Rhodes and his wife Lorraine, and her brothers Robert and William Meyer.
