Lois Young Gunter, May 22, 1924 — March 30, 2019

Lois Young Gunter, age 94, of Spruce Pine, died Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine. Born on May 22, 1924 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Anne McKinney Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morrison ‘Mutt’ Gunter.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jake Young and a nephew, David Young. Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spruce Pine and was retired from Blue Ridge Regional Hospital where she served as a Pharmacist Assistant. She was very dedicated to her parents and family.

She enjoyed reading, baking, watching t.v. and particularly sports programming. Left to cherish her memories are her sister; Margarett Sharpe and husband, Eddie of Bakersville; her nieces; Ginger McKinney, Sammie Sharpe, and Cynthia Sharpe; her nephews; Chad Young and Eddie H. Sharpe, II; several great nieces and nephews. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Lois Gunter on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev.

Scott Good officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
