Obituary for Lola Jean Reid Lola Jean Gates Reid age 91 a resident of Campbell, AL passed away September 30, 2018. She was born February 17, 1927 in Whatley, AL to H.P. Gates Sr. and Levonia Gates. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Reid Vogtner (George) of Mobile, AL; son, George T. Reid of Campbell, AL; granddaughters, Marie V. McCafferty (fiancé, Eric Budinich) of Mobile, AL; Jean V. Duncan (Michael) of Mobile, AL; Priscilla Reid Collinsworth (Jason) of Grove Hill, AL; grandson, Cody Lowery (fiancée, Kayla Thomason) of Houston, TX; great grandchildren, Alexa and Jacob Duncan; Aidan McCafferty; and Avery and Abigail Collinsworth; sisters, Betty G. Bradford, Johnie G. Dungan, Evelyn G. Green; three sisters-in-law, Peggy H. Gates, Peggy P. Gates, and Billie Jean Reid; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lola Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Edgar Douglas Reid; her son, Dennis Douglas Reid; sisters, Louise G. Lowery and Rubye G. Andrews; brothers, H.P. Gates Jr. and Thomas George Gates. Lola Jean took great pride in the fact that she was a veteran of sixty years with the US Postal Service, from which she retired in 2014 at the age of 87. Lola Jean served many years as treasurer of Campbell United Methodist Church until it closed.

More recently she was a member of Bashan Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service time. Burial will follow at Forest Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Morvin, AL.

Active pallbearers will be George Reid, George Vogtner, Jason Collinsworth, Michael Duncan, Eric Budinich, and Johnny Reid. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Corgill, Bobby Reid, and Jimmy Gates. Arrangements by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.
