Lona G. Wamsley, 108, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Holzer Assisted Living. Born on June 9, 1910 in Mason County, West Virginia, Lona was the daughter of the late Levi B. and Sammi Netty Meadows. Lona married Cecil Wamsley, who preceded her in death in 1971.

She was a retired riverboat cook. Lona previously attended the Church of God and enjoyed watching church ministries on television. Lona is survived by her son, Ken (Patti) Wamsley… Read More » of Bidwell; five grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lona was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmer Fetty, Elba Fetty, Melvin Fetty, and Ernest Fetty and her sisters, Vernie Simpkins, Minni Reynolds, and Violet Burges. The funeral service for Lona will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Willis Funeral Home with Chaplain Fred Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery.
