Mary Colleen Springer, 63, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation in Jackson, Ohio after a courageous battle with cancer. Born September 10, 1955 in Bellaire, Ohio, Mary was the daughter of Roland Swift and the late Mary (Monroe) Swift. Mary married Eric “Butch” Springer, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her father, Roland Swift; daughters, Heather (Brian) Hively of Gallipolis and Michelle Dragovich of California; grandchildren, Leah (Nathan) Kirby of Gallipolis, Destani (Shawn) Wabshall of Texas, and Colt Hively of Gallipolis; great grandchildren, Mykaila, Gabriel, and Alexa Kirby; and brothers, David (Mary) Swift of New York and Robert Swift of Florida.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Swift and her husband, Eric “Butch” Springer. Mary’s last gift was to donate her body to The Ohio State University James Cancer Center to further the battle against cancer through research. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at a Celebration of Life picnic on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cardinal Shelter House at O.O. McIntyre Park.
