Lorene Holleman Mendenhall May 02, 1928 – May 24, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book Jonesville Mrs. Lorene Holleman Mendenhall, 91, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Mendenhall was born May 2, 1928 in Yadkin County to Isaac and Rachel Haire Holleman. She was the oldest living member of Island Ford Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mendenhall worked at Chatham Manufacturing for 44 years and enjoyed working in her flowers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mendenhall was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charlie Luther Mendenhall; three sisters, Dot Williams, Emma Parks, and Modene Snow; and one brother, Dewitt Holleman. She is survived by two children, Dennis (Bee) Mendenhall and Susan (Bryan) Burchette; two grandchildren, Derek Mendenhall and Austin (Marlissa) Burchette; one sister, Ruth Casstevens; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00PM, Monday, May 27, 2019 at Island Ford Baptist Church. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00PM, with Rev. Charlie Kennedy officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Island Ford Baptist Church, 2124 NC Hwy 67 Jonesville, NC 28642. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Chatham Nursing Center and Dr. Garrison for the loving care given to Mrs. Mendenhall.
