Lorraine (Keen) Coburn November 29, 1928 – November 4, 2018 Lorraine Coburn passed away the morning of November 4, 2018 at The Hospice House in Lakeland, Florida. Born in Michigan City, Indiana on November 29, 1928 she was the youngest of five children born to Andrew and Helen (Smarzynski) Keen. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Louis, Walter, Elsie (Tilden), and Chester Keen.

Lorraine graduated from Elston High School and trained as an x-ray and lab technician at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She worked in that capacity in Michigan City for many years. In 1952 she married Walter Berg with whom she had a daughter, Connie (Berg) Bennett of Sarasota, FL.

She later married Vincent Strangio with whom she had a daughter, Lucia Zeffirelli (formerly Cindy Berg) of Tucson, AZ. In 1986 she married Bernard Miller, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Leroy Coburn, her daughters, son-in-law Randall Bennett, grandson Paolo Zeffirelli, stepchildren (Jim Coburn, Mary Ellen Feller, Fred and David Busse), and many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was a long-time member of Daughters of the Nile, Aretas Temple and she will be laid to rest at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Michigan City, IN. Visitation will be held at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN on Friday, November 23rd, from 4-7 pm for family and friends to come together and reminisce. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 24th in the Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Chapel of the Chimes Mausoleum.
