Louis A. Verhoff Kalida – Louis A. Verhoff, 81, of Kalida, Ohio, died at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born January 21, 1937 in Putnam County to the late Louis H. and Caroline (Schroeder) Verhoff. On November 14, 1959 he married Marian Schwertner who survives in Kalida.

Also surviving 3 sons, Steve (Barbara) Verhoff, Gary (Brenda) Verhoff, and Tim (Alexis) Verhoff, all of Kalida; one daughter, Sharon (Todd) Thobe of Plain City, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren, Tracey (Jeremy) Culp, Melissa (Justin) Barnhart, Joshua Verhoff, Travis Wilhelm, Lauren (Jacob) Dall, Stephanie (Matthew) Karhoff, Jeremy (Sarah) Verhoff, Morgan Thobe, Shelly Verhoff, Kimberly Verhoff, Noah Verhoff, Alex Verhoff, Ryan Verhoff, Grace Verhoff, and Olivia Verhoff; 5 great grandchildren, Austin and Ronald Culp, Natalie and Lela Barnhart and Jackson Dall; and one sister, Hilda Kleman of Ft Jennings. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Clete (Anna Mae) Verhoff, James (Florence) Verhoff and Virgil (Anita) Verhoff; one sister, Rita (Joe) Hanneman; and one brother in law, Richard Kleman. Louis was a member of St Michael’s Catholic Church in Kalida, its Holy Name Society, and Kalida K of C. He was a lifelong farmer and former employee at Remlinger Manufacturing.

Louis loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed his morning trips to the feed mill to spend with friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where an Altary Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m.. Memorials may be made to St Michael’s Catholic Church.
