Louis B. Richardson April 09, 1927 – March 12, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Louis Beryl Richardson, 91, of Hutchinson, died March 12, 2019, at his home. He was born April 9, 1927, in Long Island, KS, the son of Lloyd B. and Edna L. (Kincaid) Richardson. Louis graduated from Long Island High School in 1944 and enlisted in the United States Navy and served two years until his honorable discharge in 1946.

He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1950 with a degree in electrical engineering. Louis then attended Columbia Bible College for two years and New Tribes Institute for two years. He worked with New Tribes Mission in Manaus Amazonas, Brazil, for 21 years as a supplier while his wife, Virginia ran the mission home.

Upon returning to the U.S., Louis worked as an electrician and electrical engineer for various companies. He was most proud of his work as overseer of the Yoder Road improvement project in 1968. A highlight of Louis’ life was a Kansas Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. in 2010.

On July 15, 1953, Louis married Virginia L. McGuire in Michigan. They shared 65 years of marriage. She survives.

Also surviving are: sons, David Richardson (Vanessa), Wichita, Daniel Richardson, Newark, NJ; daughter, Debra de Oliveira (Cezar), Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Tessa Richardson-Barta (Michael), Louis Richardson, Samuel Richardson, David Richardson (Gabrielle), Grace Richardson, Emma Richardson, Jonathan Richardson, Vivian Richardson, Caetlynn de Oliveira, Michelle de Oliveira, Michael de Oliveira, Christopher de Oliveira; great-grandchildren, Elliot Richardson-Baker, Alexandria Richardson; sister, Ruth Goeldner, Fountain Valley, CA; brother-in-law, Duane Nelson, Minneapolis, KS; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Rhea Brunner and Evelyn Nelson. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E. 30th Ave.

, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
