Louise’s Obituary Louise Joy entered the world on June 29, 1928, in Benton County, MS. She departed from this life on March 24, 2019, at her home in Memphis,TN, peacefully surrounded by her family, at the very blessed age of Ninety years old. She was born Louise Williams to parents, Ed Williams and Mattie Lou Glass Williams, and she was the eldest of nine children; Artis, Annie, John, Mary, Mae Louis, Jerry, Dorothy, and Willie, allof whom she took a great hand in helping to raise.

In 1945, Louise embarked on the journey of her lifetime. She married the love of her life, Gilbert Joy Sr., in Holly Springs, MS, and remained married to him until his death on February 20, 1984. Louise and Gilbert were married for 39 years, and to their union 9 beautiful children were born: Leona Coleman (Ronald), Mattie Leatherwood, Gilbert Joy Jr. (Walterine), Mack Joy (Annie), Oney Griffin (Mozel), Eddie Phillip Joy (Gloria), Margie Branch, Tim Joy (Malia) & Will Joy, who she leaves.

Louise was abundantly blessed with 31 Grandchildren, and exceedingly blessed with 38 Great-Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchilden, who she leaves. She also leaves three sisters; Mary McKennery of Youngstown, AZ, Mae Lois Kirkland of Indianapolis, IN, and Dorothy Williams of Los Angeles, CA; a brother Willie Williams of Memphis, TN; a sister-in-law, Willie Mae Williams of Michigan City, MS; and adopted children, Yvette and Robert Booker, an host of nieces, nephews, and family members, all of which she leaves to cherish a legacy of love and memories.
