A prayer warrior to the very end, Louise Wyatt Davis, age 88, entered into eternity on the morning of January 17, 2019 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, FL. She was surrounded by family and passed peacefully, knowing she was loved by her family and her savior, Jesus Christ. Louise was a lifelong resident of Dublin, GA.

She was the daughter of the late R.C. “Clint” Wyatt Sr. and the late Emma Spivey Wyatt. She was a proud and lifetime member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church. Always committed to southern hospitality, Louise was known for her superb talents in the kitchen, pouring love into every recipe.

After beginning her career as a weaver with JP Stevens, she retired from the company, which later became Forstmann, in the Industrial Engineering department after 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, John Walter Davis, her brothers and sisters, Thurmond W. Wyatt, R.C. Wyatt, Jr., Wayne Wyatt, Doris Hobbs, Irene Clark, and Mary Lizzie Swinson. Louise’s survivors include her daughter, Karen Davis, Pleasant Hill, CA, granddaughter Moselle Davis-Kaufman, Martinez, CA, her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Lauren Davis, Palm Coast, FL, granddaughter Becky Kaufmann (Richard), great grandsons Fisher and Shepherd Kaufmann, Jacksonville FL, and granddaughter Rachel Rippey, New York City.

Louise and her family were blessed and grateful to have her neighbor, Frank Matthews, and her niece, Denise Wyatt, working to lovingly ensure her well-being for the past several years, as she enjoyed living independently at home on Ben Hall Lake. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brother’s Funeral Home on Friday, January 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Celebration of life services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jefferson Street Baptist Church Chapel. As requested by Louise, this will be a time of joyous celebration—no tears nor sad music.

Family and friends are invited to enjoy fellowship, fond memories, and a light lunch reception immediately following the service in the church social hall. The interment service will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Northview Cemetery. Reverend Nolan McDaniel will officiate.

Louise’s nephews will serve as pallbearers: David Wyatt, Joel Wyatt, Steve Wyatt, Chuck Davis, Ken Hollis, Steve Raffield, Robert Drew and Steve Manning. In keeping with Louise’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Senior Citizens Program of Jefferson Street Baptist Church, 209 N. Jefferson St., Dublin, GA 31021.
