Obituary for Lucille “Lucy” Galaviz Lucille “Lucy” Galaviz passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the age of 80. Beloved mother of Maria Galaviz, Anna Galaviz Comeaux (Rene) and Denise Rodgers. Daughter of the late Josefa and Manuel Galaviz.

Sister of Consuelo Galaviz, Reyes Galaviz and the late Esperanza Bencomo, Bertha Galaviz, and Socrorro “Jose” Galaviz. Grandmother of Maria Elena Ramirez, Julie Anna Ornelas, and the late Ramon Ramirez. Great grandmother of Ny’Jai Ornelas, Julian Ornelas, Allen Ellsworth, Carlos Ellsworth, and Alannah Ellsworth.

Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was a surgical tech and worked coast to coast. In the latter part of her career, she was a private home health provider.

She loved to knit, cross stitch and make rosaries. She belonged to the Secular Order of the Servants of Mary. She was a native of Temosachic, Chihuahua, Mexico and a resident of Marrero and River Ridge, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy. , Harvey, LA on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 1pm. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 8am until 1pm. Recitation of the Rosary at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4401 7th Street, Marrero, LA 70072 are preferred.
