Lucille Petri , December 15, 1920 — December 20, 2018

Lucille’s Obituary Lucille M. Petri entered into eternal life with Our Lord Jesus Christ on December 20, 2018 at the age of 98 years. She died in her home, surrounded by loved ones, after several years of bad health, and finally a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born December 15, 1920 at St. Michael’s to the late Math and Mary (nee Bingen) Theisen.

On June 30, 1945, she married John E. Petri while on furlough, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michael’s. Soon after being discharged from the United States Army after serving during World War II, the couple lived at St. Michael’s. They moved to West Bend in 1947, and have lived there ever since.

Lucille and John belonged to Holy Angels Congregation and were very dedicated to the parish. Lucille loved to golf with her husband. They were charter members of Hon-E-Kor in Kewaskum.

They also traveled with friends on golf outings. Lucille believed in cleanliness, loving to care for her new home on Fair Street in West Bend. Lucille was employed at various places, but most recently in direct mail at the Ziegler Company.

She was proud to be one of the “Ziegler Girls”, most of whom remained in contact years later. Lucille’s husband, John, predeceased her in death on May 25, 1993. Also preceding her in death were four sisters: Loretta (Teddy) Schneider, Rose (Walter) Schneider, Marie (Elmer) Peters and Bernice (George, Jr.) Schickert.

Four brothers also preceded her in death: Alex (Helen), Raymond (Clara), Alphonse and Albert. She leaves behind a son Steven J. (Lona) of Bozeman, MT and daughter Kathleen (Andre) of West Bend, step-granddaughter Kelly (Patrick) Ayres of Bend, OR; 2 sisters-in-law Mildred Theisen ( Alphonse’s wife) and Mildred Theisen (Albert’s wife), both of Kewaskum; many wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was a terrific wife and mother, and will be sorely missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 28 at 12 noon at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Heppe presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church during a period of visitation on Friday from 10 until 11:45 a.m. Lucille’s family would like to extend a special and sincere thanks to Dr. Mosley and Jane and to Horizon In-Home Hospice, Stacey and Julie for their compassionate care and guidance.
