LueDora Fox, known to most everyone as “Doey” of Ironton, Mo passed away on March 18, 2019 at the age of 84 years, 7 months, 25 days. She was born July 24, 1934 in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of the late Archie and Geneva Hammers Austin. On her seventeenth birthday, July 24, 1951 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Billy Joe Fox who preceded her in rest on December 21, 2001.

To this union five children were born; Glenda (Tom) Kennedy of Pilot Knob, Brenda Fox of Ironton, Melinda Fox of Ironton, Billy (Patsy) Fox of Bismarck, and the late Linda Kay Williams. Doey is survived by four children, one brother, Roland (Norma) Austin of St. Louis, one sister Janet (Theodore) Wyman of St. Louis, and one grandchild Tommi Jo Kennedy and spouse Becky Whennen of Ironton. Doey is preceded in rest by her parents, her husband Billy Joe, one daughter Linda Kay Williams, two brothers; Zalmer Austin and Archie Austin, six brothers-in-law; Lawrence Lee, Robert Fox, Charles Fox, Roy Fox, Tommy Fox, Leo Fox, and three sisters-in-law; Dorothy Austin, Wilma Fox, and Wanda Lee.

Doey was an artist, a talented piano player with a lovely singing voice, created beautiful hand-embroidered works, and a devoted and loving childcare provider for most of her life. She loved children, especially her granddaughter, and most definitely earned the title “Worlds Best Grandma” She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton for twenty two years, and she also played the piano for the Centerville Baptist Church before moving to Ironton. A Celebration of Life for Doey will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Ironton, A visitation period will be held Friday, March 22, 2019 starting at 11:00 am.

Pastor Sam Gentry will be officiating the funeral services. Interment will be at Redford Memorial Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.
