Obituary for Lula Bell Tonga Lula Bell Tonga, age 79, of Flat Rock, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton, Michigan. Born in September of 1938 in Lea Springs, Tennessee, she was the daughter of John and Ida (Elmore) Copeland. In the summer of 1985 she met the love of her life, Ernest.

They later married in July of 1995 in Taylor, MI. She was employed with Yamato International as a Supervisor for 17 years until retiring in 2005 . Lula enjoyed spending time with her family, playing card and board games, solving crossword puzzles and going to garage sales and out to breakfast.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Terry L. Oliver, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are husband, Ernest Tonga of Flat Rock, son, Wayne (Julie) Oliver, Jr. of Farmington Hills, daughters, Lisa (Ken) Harris of Taylor and Linda Oliver of Rockwood, step-son, Ernest (Susan) Tonga, Jr. of Garden City, brother, James (Elizabeth) Copeland of Luttrell, TN, 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way. Cremation is to take place and a Memorial service will be held at a later date.
