OBITUARY Madeline A. Branen September 24, 1924 – November 17, 2018 Madeline Branen, 94 of Staten Island, passed away November 17, 2018 quietly surrounded by her loved ones at the Sunrise Senior Living Center, Staten Island. Born Madeline Gambardella, Madeline enjoyed Music throughout her life. As a child she and her brother Michael performed on WOR radio as a song and dance team.

Madeline was a Graduate of Notre Dame College, SI with a degree in chemistry and worked as a chemist for Tidewater Chemical Corporation before pursuing a career in music. She was the church organist and choir director at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and later St. Joseph’s Church in Rosebank for over 50 years before retiring several years ago. She was also a music teacher at OLGC School.

Madeline was also a member of the St. Cecilia Choir and also was the director of the All Faith Choir of Staten Island. Madeline was predeceased in death by her husband Robert (2011). She has 4 sons, 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
