Mahanie Allen King was born on October 25, 1937 in southeastern Kentucky. She was the eleventh of sixteen children born to Troy and Ethel (Stidham) Allen. Mahanie married Arlie Noble in 1954, and soon after they moved to Chicago.

After a few years, they relocated to a small town in Indiana to raise their family. By 1976, Mahanie had divorced, married Edward King, and relocated to Texas. She worked for Dow Chemical for 15 years as a forklift operator.

She was widowed in 1989, and in 1992 she retired to her beloved Kentucky. In 2012, her health deteriorated so that she had to move close to her family, back to Texas, to help care for her. Mahanie leaves behind two daughters, Aileen (Glenn) Genoway, and Charlene (Fermin) Cortez, two grandchildren, Sherry Hann and Alex Cortez, four great-grandchildren, Aaron Leming, Austin Leming, Ayven Cortez and Corbin Cortez and one great-great grandson, Bentley Leming.

Mahanie had a wonderful work ethic. She loved to read books, especially westerns. She enjoyed her great-grandchildren and they visited often when she was at the nursing home.

Per her wishes, she was cremated with no services. Her family will honor the memory of her and all that she taught us. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mahanie King please visit our Sympathy Store.
