Brenda Gay Lindsey was born in Bowie on June 25, 1959 to Glenn and Loretta (Harper) Lindsey. She attended Bangs schools. She married Dale Hicks on January 3, 1997 in Brownwood.

Brenda worked locally in the banking industry for over 20 years. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. Brenda is survived by her husband of 22 years, Dale Hicks of Lake Brownwood, her son, Scott Eason and wife Lissa and their children, Cayden, Bayleigh and Sawyer; two daughters, Heather Barker and husband Casey and their children, Kassidy and Hayden; Johanna Gordon and husband Sean and their children, Gunner and Gage; her mother, Loretta Mattix; siblings, Randall Lindsey and wife Danah, Mike Lindsey and wife Shelly, Ricky Lindsey, Kim Sandford and husband Blake and Robert Mattix and wife Cyndi.
