Obituary for Malcolm Malpass Jr. Malcolm A. Malpass Jr. 92, of Cranes Hollow Road, Amsterdam, NY, passed away Thursday morning, September 13, 2018 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam on October 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Malcolm A. and Elizabeth Howitt Malpass Sr. Malcolm received his education in the Amsterdam school system. Malcolm retired as a Tool & Die Maker at General Electric in Schenectady NY.

Malcolm was an honorably discharged United States Navy, World War II veteran, serving from 1943 to 1946. He was a past member of the Cranesville Reformed Church. He was also a past member of the John J. Wyszomirski American Legion Post 701 and the Mohawk Valley Campers.

Malcolm is survived by his wife, Mary A. Madelone Malpass, one son, Clifford Malpass (Karen) of Hagaman, NY; one daughter, Toni Lyn Wolf (Ron)of Acworth, GA; five grandchildren, Mary Beth Phillips of Schenectady, NY; Richard DiDonna of Florida, Ryan Malpass (Natalee) of Gloversville, NY; Michael Malpass (Betsy) of Fort Johnson, NY and Tara Ryczek (Joshua) of Broadalbin, NY, and eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Janet Beyer of Scotia, NY and Beverly Brino (Albert) of Broadalbin, NY. Nieces and nephews also survive. Malcolm was also predeceased by a sister Betty Finkenstein and brother-in-law, Donald Beyer.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service, which will be held Monday, September 17, 2018 at 11:00 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Rev. Ken Heckeler officiating. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the service.

Interment with military honors will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY at 1:00 p.m. Memorial gifts in Malcolm’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 622 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
