OBITUARY Mamie M. Dowell May 21, 1930 – October 30, 2018 Mamie M. Dowell peacefully transitioned to glory October 30, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was an active member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church for over 70 years where she served as President or Vice President on several church auxiliaries. She retired from Bristol Myers after 25 years of service after which she joined Casino Aztar/Tropicana as an inaugural crewmember in December 1995.

She served faithfully until she retired on October 25, 2018, after 23 years of service. She was a member of several civic groups and kept an active membership in the Lincoln Clark Douglas Association. Mamie was preceded in death by her late husband, Macon E. Dowell in 1984.

She leaves to cherish her legacy six children: Rev. Macon L. Dowell, Carmen E. Johnson, Dwight D. Dowell, Wendy K. Laffette, Rev. Derrick T. Dowell, Cheryl P. Crowell, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to Rev. Adrian Brooks, Sr. and the Memorial Baptist Church family, to Dr. R.V. Terry, Jr. and our Zion Missionary Baptist Church family, and to all who have prayed and shown concern during our hour of bereavement. A visitation service will be Friday, November 9, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Both services will take place at Memorial Baptist Church located at 605 Canal Street, Evansville, IN 47713, officiated by Rev.
