Mamie Jean’s Obituary Mamie Jean Eden, age 96, of Hudsonville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 14, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Eden; son, Roy Eden; son-in-law, Jack McVey; granddaughter, Melissa Eden; sister, Carol and Pete Groters. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia McVey of Florida; step-children, Jean Hall of Oklahoma, Bob (Mary) Eden of Florida; niece, Rita (Jim) Horstman, Shar (Jerry) Vogel; many great nieces and nephews and wonderful loving friends.

Mamie was born in Hudsonville and graduated from Hudsonville High School. She worked for the public-school program for mentally challenged young people. As a lifelong member of the Congregational Church, she enjoyed her many years of teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.

She was also a 4-H leader in the community. She enjoyed music and loved singing and playing the piano, organ and violin. Mamie was a sweet loving friend and fittingly passed on Valentine’s Day.

A memorial service for Mamie will be held on Monday, February 18, at 11:00 A.M. at Hudsonville Congregational United Church of Christ, 4950 32nd Ave. Hudsonville, MI 49426. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at Hudsonville Congregational UCC following the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Hudsonville UCC.
