Obituary for Manfred Luttinger Manfred Luttinger, age 85, passed away on July 25, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents, David and Rosa Luttinger. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose Gefan Luttinger and son, David (Nancy Barton) Luttinger.

Manfred was born in Mannheim, Germany and the family escaped to Switzerland during the war. Manfred and his mother came to the U. S. in 1948. He was a Polymer Research Chemist at Battelle for 60 years, retiring for the second time in December, 2017.

He helped to shape Congregation Beth Tikvah in its beginning years and has remained active there for 54 years. He had a life-long passion for adult learning and started a Sunday evening study group which has lasted for 54 years. He was also a strong advocate for social justice and worked diligently for many years thru the B.R.E.A.

D Organization and thru Beth Tikvah’s membership in the group. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at Congregation Beth Tikvah, 6121 Olentangy River Rd. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.

Shiva will be observed at the Luttinger home Sunday and Monday at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred in his memory to the B.R.E.A. D Organization www. breadcolumbus.com or to Congregation Beth Tikvah.
