Marcia K. Ray, 78, of Newton died on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Accura Healthcare of Newton West. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 9, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Memorials in Marcia’s name may be left at the funeral home. Marcia, the daughter of Joe and Ruth (Muir) Newburn, was born on August 25, 1940 in Maloy, Iowa. She grew up in Clearfield and graduated from Clearfield High School.

On February 12, 1961, Marcia was united in marriage with Larry Ray in Clearfield. In 1962, they made their home in Newton. Marcia worked as the Personal Director at Skiff Memorial Hospital for over 20 years.

She had a love of books and enjoyed reading and doing word find puzzles. Marcia is survived by her children, Lori (Scott) Van Zee of Newton, Craig Ray of Lakeview, Arkansas, and Rod (Jodie) Ray of Newton and three grandchildren, Jordan (Shannon) Ray, Chelsea Van Zee (Glenn Wilson), and Nathan Van Zee. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry in 2007; and a granddaughter, Katie Jo in 1996.
