No services are scheduled at this time. Marjorie, the daughter of George L. and Goldie Mae (Huff) Gabel, was born August 16, 1929 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She grew up in the Oskaloosa and New Sharon areas.

She was a graduate of Lacey High School. Marjorie was united in marriage with Virgil Thompson on March 18, 1948 in Sheridan, Iowa. She was a homemaker and also had worked at Brownell’s.

She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Marjorie enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking, crocheting, and doing pottery work and ceramics. Marjorie is survived by her husband, Virgil of Marshalltown; 5 sons: Daniel (Annette) Thompson of Newton, Mike Thompson of Gilman, Tom (Sydney) Thompson of Montezuma, John Thompson of Kellogg, and George (Connie) Thompson of Montezuma; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild; and her siblings: Lawrence Gabel, Norma Steffen, JoAnn Swank, and Barbara Sytsma.
