A graveside service for Robert will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials to Jasper County Rides or Hospice of the Midwest can be brought to the graveside service or left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. Robert, the son of Amos and Iva (Grant) Myers, was born May 27, 1925 in Grinnell, Iowa.

The family moved to Newton in 1932, and he graduated from Newton High School. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge from the army, he began working at The Maytag Company in Newton, where he was a Tool and Die Engineer.

He retired in 1987. Robert was a member of the American Legion. Robert is survived by his sister-in-law, Lois Myers; nephews, Steve Myers and Doug Myers (Kim, Christopher, and Katie.

) He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Bill and John.
