Michael D. Bozarth, 62, of Newton died on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials to Michael’s family (checks made payable to Brett Bozarth) may be left at the funeral home.

Michael, the son of Donald G. and Barbara A. (Blacker) Bozarth, was born on March 23, 1957 in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1975 and completed technical school with the local carpentry union in Des Moines. Michael worked at the Maytag Company in Newton until its closing.

Since that time he has been doing a variety of odd jobs. He loved going to his grandkid’s activities and also had enjoyed camping and golfing. Michael is survived by his son, Brett (Lacey) Bozarth of Newton and two grandchildren, Landon and Haleigh Bozarth.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
