West Baldwin – Margaret Dorothy Ladd, 87, born Feb 1st, 1931 in Portland, Maine, daughter of Charles W. Upham and Margaret S. Upham died Tuesday, April 17th with her loving family at her side. She was a graduate of Portland High School class of 1949. She then studied clerical skills at a technical college and became a receptionist for Emery Waterhouse.

Margaret was the loving mother of seven children, three sons and four daughters who she is survived by. Always a caring and loving woman, after having been widowed by her husband Warren Ladd, she became and caretaker of the elderly residence of the Park Danforth Residence where she earned the love and respect of many. The wake will be held at A. T. Hutchins Funeral Home in Portland, from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, April 24th.

The funeral will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stevens Avenue in Portland at 10 am on Wednesday, April 25th. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Catholic Charities Maine.
