Baden Margaret F. Huwar, 95, of Baden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 28, 1923, in Coney Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Frances Dwyer. A lifelong member of the Roman Catholic faith, she put God first in her life, and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Baden.
She worked at the Ambridge Park Road Elementary School and Mount Gallitzin Convent in Baden. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling near and far to attend activities and sporting events for “her babies”. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.
She is survived by six sons and five daughters-in-law, Carl A. Huwar, Baden; John (Debra) Huwar, Kansas City, Mo. ; Bryan (Jean) Huwar, Clarion, Pa. ; Richard (Cathy) Huwar, Rochester Twp.
; James “Bubba” (Cathy) Huwar, Economy Boro, and Timothy (Sue) Huwar, Kansas City, Mo. ; 18 grandchildren, Carl Jason Huwar, Shawn (Alberta) Huwar, Tanya (Donald) Despines, Bryan (Liz) Huwar, Lucas (Lee) Huwar, Josh (Angie) Huwar, Barry Huwar, Jamie (Matt) Curry, Bradley (Marissa) Huwar, Katie (Bryan) Scott, Brendan (Kate) Huwar, Erica (Matt) Schmidt, Maegan (Phil) Fabanich, Jon (Laurie) McKinney, Kelly (Casey) Wilson, Tyler (Rachel) Huwar, Zachry (Becca) Huwar, Jamie (Teresa) Laffoon; 27 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Donovan, Wyatt, Sloane, Bryson, Wade, Hank, Ada, Liam, Lila, Theo, Blaze, Erica, Ethan, Cole, Taylor, Carter, Owen, Luca, Max, Alexander, Madison, Mackenzie, Delaney, Brynn, Matthew and Henry; two brothers, John Dwyer, New Jersey, and Billy Dwyer, Virginia; a special relative, Barbara Huwar, Clarion, Pa. , and many nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law of the Dwyer and Huwar family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carl Huwar, on July 15, 2001; four brothers, Al, Anthony, Charlie and Tommy; seven sisters, Elizabeth, Mary, Frances, Patricia, Geraldine, Catherine and Claire, and a daughter-in-law, Dolores Huwar. Friends will be received Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 1 to 6 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. , 1099 Maplewood Ave.
, Ambridge, where a service will be held Monday, July 2, 2018, at 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baden. The Rev. Father Joseph Carr will officiate.
Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery. Members of the Baden American Legion Auxiliary will conduct a service Sunday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
