Portland, ME Once in a life time, if you are Lucky, an Angel crosses your path, and we, the children of Margaret G. Rose were BLESSED to call that Angel, “Mom”. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear, brave mother, Margaret G. Rose who died December 15, 2018. Margaret was born in Portland on December 18th, 1937 to Marie Gomes and Catino Fernandez.

She graduated from Cathedral HS, where her fervent faith was formulated and that faith would carry her through many losses of her life, including her cherished child, Tara Ann, yet she never complained. One of her first jobs was candy striper at Mercy Hospital stayed there for 20 years as Ward Clerk, Moved to Wareham started her family, and returned to Maine to raise her children as single parent with all the loving support ofher sister’s and mother. The joys of Margaret’s life, aside from her knitting, cooking and jewelry making, were her loving family and friends who adored her!

She raised all 4 of her children, Richielle, Monique, Eric and Thyiace as a single mother, worked many jobs, yet still found the time to put a hot meal on the table every night. Along with her devoted children, her sisters, Ann and Marie, niece Julie, nephew Louie, great niece Mona, grandchildren Cheyenne, Ciara, Dio and Elizabeth, great grandchildren Mathew and Kamrym, and in-laws Louis, Nina, Jerry, Alex and Matt, her many loyal friends brought her a life time of happy memories! Her family is happy to report that she moved on, as she lived gracefully, with a smile upon her face.

A Celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at the A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10A.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
