Preceded in death by parents William and Opal Pastoor, sister Joyce DeBoer, brother Bill Pastoor, and husband Clinton E. Giezen After suffering from various maladies, Peg peacefully passed to be with her Lord and Savior. She was surrounded by family. Peg’s faith was paramount to her.

She and her husband Clint were members of the Christian Reformed Churches in Denver until moving to Parker, at which time, she and Clint became members of Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and more recently Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church. Following graduation from high school in Muskegon, Michigan, Peg’s sense of adventure brought her to Colorado, where she met Clint at church. They married in 1950 and settled in Denver, raising their family.

As was the custom of the day, Peg became a homemaker and held the fort at home, allowing Clint to follow his career. Meanwhile, Peg volunteered her time in the administrative offices of Bethesda Mental Health Hospital once a week and taught children during Vacation Bible School every summer for years. After her family moved to Parker, Peg would regularly go “garage saleing”, not so much for a good bargain, although bargain shopping was a passion of hers, but to buy children’s clothing and toys to donate to her church for distribution.

Peg’s passion for gardening was always a part of her life. As a result of her feel for texture and color, all three of her children were married in her garden. Later in life, her love for pulling weeds and surrounding herself with flowers became a challenge, as she often said she didn’t know which she enjoyed more, looking out on her flowers blooming or watching the deer munching them.

She finally gave in to the deer. Peg’s passion for sewing and working with fiber was apparent throughout her home, as she made cushions for chairs and quilts for beds. She also created and sewed her own clothing, and she taught her daughter to sew and knit.

Peg’s love for baking lead her to attend and graduate from cake decorating school. She created a new tradition of baking and decorating cakes for all of the family birthdays, weddings, and holidays. She taught these skills to her daughter and granddaughters.

Peg’s heart was happiest when surrounded by her growing family. She relished planning and hosting family gatherings for every holiday of the year, which always included one of her beautiful cakes. Peg is survived by her three adult children Rick, Kirk and Glenda, 7 adult grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
