Margaret Stegmiller, 84, of Mandan, died May 17, 2019 in a Mandan nursing home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Jarad Wolf as celebrant.

Burial will be held at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan. Margaret was born January 15, 1935 in St. Anthony, ND, the daughter of George Jr. and Eleanor (Wetsch) Gangl.

She was raised and educated in the St. Anthony area. On October 14, 1953, Margaret married Joseph Stegmiller Jr. in St. Anthony, ND. They farmed in the Flasher, ND area until 1959 when they moved to Mandan, ND.

Margaret worked as an Optometric Assistant for 20 years, retiring in 1997. Margaret loved bowling, playing pinochle, collecting dolls, jewelry, and shopping. She enjoyed travelling and was always up for a trip with family.

She always treasured her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret will be deeply missed by her three children, Duane, Bismarck, ND, Kathleen Stegmiller-Richter, Mandan, ND, and Brian, Rochester, MN; two sisters, Leona Gartner and Donna (Pete) Kuhn; two grandchildren, Andy (Amy) Richter, Flasher, ND, and Lyle Richter, Bismarck, ND; and three great-grandchildren, Joe and Victoria Richter, and Reese Richter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Joseph; her parents, one sister, Ellen; one infant brother, Terence; two brothers-in-law, Martin Friesz and Franklin Gartner; and one daughter-in-law, Margo Stegmiller.
