Margie “Mamaw” Lucille Kirkland, age 82, of Sweetwater, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, at U.T. Medical Center surrounded by those that loved her. She was a matriarch in the Kirkland family, strength in the family structure and the humor that kept so much together. She loved to a fault and had more spunk than should be contained in one person.

Her personality was explosive and she never knew a stranger. She was a faithful member of Nazarene Church in Sweetwater who loved Jesus, especially more-so her senior years. She was a former employee of 411 Sewing Factory & Powell Military and was an avid seamstress for family & Salt & Light Studios.

Preceded in death by her parents: Robert Taylor & Pearlie Mae Reynolds; husband- Elmer “Buck” Kirkland of 48 years; son- Larry Kirkland; brothers & sisters- Hubert Reynolds, Henry Reynolds, Homer “Buddy” Reynolds, Dovie Mae Moses, Nora Lea Clowers, Maude Daily, Myrtle Kirkland, Stanley Reynolds; grandson: Brad Labanowitz. Survivors include sons: Dennis Kirkland & wife Robin, of Sweetwater, Gary & Brenda Kirkland, of Madisonville, daughter-in-law Margie Kirkland, of Loudon; grandchildren: Travis Kirkland and wife Amy, Andrea Kirkland Lynn and husband Greg, Heather Kirkland, Lauren Kirkland Phillips and husband Michah, Andrew Kirkland, Erica Kirkland, Nathan Kirkland, Tyler Kirkland; great-grandchildren: Tori Kirkland, Ellie Kirkland, Sadie Kirkland, Jace Lynn, Marley Lynn; brothers: Eugene Reynolds and wife Estelle “Flip”, Charlie Reynolds; special nephew: Dewayne Reynolds, special niece: Kathy Reynolds, special friends: Mae Guinn & Weezy, several nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 5P.

M until 7P.M. with funeral service to follow at 7P.M. in Kyker’s Chapel with Reverend Clarence Hogg. A graveside service and internment will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 10A.M. in Sweetwater Memorial Park. Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, is in charge of all arrangements.
