Taunton, MA — Maria Madalena Azevedo Lima, 81, of Taunton passed away Monday February 25, 2019 at Morton Hospital. She was the loving wife of Jose Pimentel for sixty two years. Maria was born in Terceira, Azores, and she was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Azevedo) Lima.

A dedicated mother, Mrs. Lima devoted her life to raising her nine children. She greatly enjoyed cooking and entertaining guests. Maria loved to dance and was always optimistic, always finding the good in every bad situation.

She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors besides her husband include, five daughters, Margarida Pimentel of Terceira, Azores, Iria deSousa of Taunton, Marta DeCastro of Taunton, Carla Coelho of Raynham, and Susana Tavares of East Taunton; four sons, Luis Pimentel of Terceira, Azores, Carlos Pimentel of Taunton, Paul George Pimentel of Taunton, and Duarte Pimentel of Acushnet; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iria Braga of Terceira, Azores, and Ermelinda Lima of Terceira, Azores. Services are private at the request of the family and have been entrusted to Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave, Taunton.
