Obituary for Maria Elena Cerna Maria Elena Cerna Lagodich, 58, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018, after courageous battle with brain cancer. Maria was born in Kenosha on September 7, 1960 and was a lifelong member of the Kenosha community. She was very proud of her accomplished career as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years.

Taking care of people was her greatest hobby and her selfless love will truly be missed. Maria lived with an unwavering faith and her family is comforted in knowing that she is holding Jesus’ hand in heaven. She is survived by her husband, Ivan Lagodich; three daughters, Melissa (Moses Stevenson) Calliari, Melinda (Nicholas Castillo) Cruz, Michelle (Keenan) Henkelman; four grandsons, Alexander, Oliver, Theodore, and Augustus; her five siblings, Julia Cerna Valdez, Daniel Cerna, John Cerna, Dee Cerna, Bob Cerna; two close nephews, DJ Cerna and Adolf Alvarez: and many other nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Rose Elia Lehmann; and her father, Daniel Cerna, Sr. Maria’s life was celebrated privately with her loved ones.
