OBITUARY Maria Elena Shurden Kennedy December 6, 1941 – September 24, 2018 Maria Elena Shurden Kennedy, age 76, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. Maria was born December 6, 1941 in Magnolia, Mississippi to Mildred Fancher Shurden and Obie Henry Shurden. Maria is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Maria Kennedy and Cindy Kennedy (Jason) Langston; sisters, Sandra Shurden Majors and Margaret Shurden Williams; and grandchildren, Hampton, Ella, Carson, and Allie.

Maria was preceded in death by her father, Obie Henry Shurden; mother, Alice Young Shurden; and birth mother, Mildred Fancher Shurden. A visitation for Maria will be held Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606. A celebration of life will occur Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

An interment will follow at Mount Vernon Community Cemetery, 1305 Military Rd, Mount Vernon, Alabama 36560. Serving as pallbearers are Thomas Funk, Forrest Funk, Taylor Sullivan, Jason Langston, Hampton Langston, John Spillers and Carson Langston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maria’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, www.
