Maria Pena Taveras, 86 of Perth Amboy, NJ, passed away on December 8, 2018 at Raritan Bay Medical Center with her family by her side. Maria was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic then came to Brooklyn, New York then to reside in Perth Amboy with her family. Maria is predeceased by her adored parents Jose A. and Juana (Rodriguez) Pena and beloved children Altagracia, Raul and Carmen Taveras She is survived by her cherished husband Jose Rafael Taveras, loving children Luis, Benito (Celeste), Juan (Lydia), Hector (Mary), Martin (Mary), Ramona (Nick), Andres (Sonia), Jose “Chelo” (Arelis), Wally (Melvise) Taveras and Angela (Rick) Radd.

She is also survived by 33 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great -Great Grandson. We begin to leave on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 9:15am for a Funeral Mass at 10am At Our Lady Of Fatima Church, Interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 5 ~ 9pm at Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
