Marian L. Groner, age 70, of Hermann passed away Sunday , May 19, 2019 at Frene Valley Stonebridge. She was born in Washington, Missouri, on April 23, 1949, a daughter of the late Otto & Lorene (LaBoube) Glatz. .

Marian was united in marriage on March 3, 1973 to the late Roger Groner who passed away on September 16, 1979. She is survived by two daughters Melissa & husband Curt Overkamp of Hermann and Susan & husband Eric Brinegar of Jefferson City, MO. Sister In-laws Mary Ann Vaughan of Jefferson City, Betty Fast of Jefferson City, Carol Schaefer of Hermann, Teresa Groner-Davis Hallsville, Paula Bunde of Overland Park , Ks.

& Jeanne Groner of Berger. Other survivors include five grandchildren Allen & wife Ashley Overkamp, Kyle Overkamp, Eli, Max, & Tess Brinegar. Marian was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Berger, and a former member of the Eagles in Hermann.

She owned & operated M & S Candies for serveral years. Following her time as a business owner she went to work being a cook for Rivertown Restaurant, but her real passion was baking. Anyone that knew her, knew she loved to bake.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 22, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s in Berger with Father John Deken officiating. Burial will be in the St. Pauls Cemetery.

Memorials are requested to the Church or Alzheimers Association C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
