Marie Thrower Greiert, 75, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday afternoon, March 11, 2019 at Piedmont Regional Medical Center in Columbus, GA A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm EDT on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Chaplain Mike Toomey officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 pm EDT, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Phenix City. A private interment will follow later by her loving family.

Ms. Greiert was born January 4, 1944 in Phenix City, AL to the late Shelton Thrower and Daisey Glass Tadlock. She had worked for many years for West Point Pepperell Textile. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, dancing, watching old western movies, and watching Gospel programs on TV.

She loved people, never meeting a stranger, she was a Pentecostal by faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Athena Hodge, one brother, Benny Ray Thrower, and two grandchildren, D J Leverett, and Jonathon Jinright. She is survived by her children, Wanda Youngblood and husband Kenneth of Smiths Station, AL, Bob Stokes, Jr. of Salem, AL, Sabrina Gove and husband Tom of Wooster, OH, and Thurston Grow of Phenix City, AL; (8) grandchildren, Shannon Gove, Jessica Bailey (David), Matthew Kirkley, Brittney Jackson, Bobby Stokes, III, Brandon Jinright, Anthony Hodge, and Joshua “Josh” Grow (Terren), a host of great grandchildren, one niece, and one nephew, and many caring friends.
