Obituary for Mariella E. Carroll Mariella E. Carroll, 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Fort Sanders Medical Center. She was born on June 26, 1929 in Jonesville, VA to the late Olin and Olivet Vandeventer Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Daugherty and Helen Anderson, and by two brothers, Jack and Vandy Jones.

She had lived many years in Orlando, FL, where she had retired from the Orlando Sentinel, and where she was a member of the Ventura Country Club. Mariella is survived by a son, Perry (Pat) Carroll of Gate City, VA; a daughter, Debbie (Jerry) McConnell of Rose Hill, VA; three grandchildren, Tara (Lea) Teras, Vickie (Chris) Brown and Alesha McConnell (Fiance, Bobby Carmony); four great-grandchildren, Emma and Jack Teras, Jeremiah Payne and Aidan Brown; a sister, Ann Wilson of Orleans, IN; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, at Robinette Funeral Home in Jonesville.

The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow in Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Bethel Cemetery, c/o Frank Rines, 5612 Occonita Rd. , Jonesville, Va, 24263.
