Obituary of Marietta D’Onofrio Marietta “Mary” A. D’Onofrio 93, a lifelong Stratford resident, passed away peacefully at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fairfield on June 3, 2018. Born in Stratford on April 3, 1925, she was the youngest child of the late Mateo and Jennie Izzo D’Onofrio. She graduated from Stratford High School and worked at the Bridgeport Brass for over 25 years and then held various clerical positions in local companies.

She was kind, generous, and caring to all and spent many years taking care of her parents with whom she resided. Mary cherished her 12 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews, and 9 great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four brothers, Daniel, Ernest, Samuel, and Alfred D’Onofrio and sister, Lucy Mainiero.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion for Marietta and for her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 directly in St. James Church, 2110 Main Street, Stratford at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a contribution in Mary’s memory to a charity of your choice.
