Marilyn’s Obituary Marilyn Alice Gregory, 69, of Cabot, was called home on January 16, 2019. She was born August 16, 1949 in Hartford, Wisconsin to the late Lester and Edna Goll Pollnow. Marilyn lived in Wisconsin on “the farm” until her family relocated to Arkansas when she was twelve years old.

She met, Billy, the love of her life, when she was only fifteen, and they were married nine days after her eighteenth birthday, giving them fifty-one years together. They moved often, from Arkansas to Texas to Germany, then Austria and back, as they gave most of their married life to missions. (Not so sure if plucking chickens for large youth groups was on her list of top 10 best things to do on the mission field!

) Marilyn’s heartbeat was, above all, being a wife and mother. A true patriot, she also worked as a civilian on a military base in Heidelberg, Germany and later for the Little Rock Air Force Base, from which she later retired. Full of exuberance, she enjoyed laughter, singing, leading worship, teaching Bible classes, all while still finding time to edit Christian books and literature in English and German.

Her exemplary work ethic ran circles around everyone else. Her favorite past-times by far were daughter-time, movies with buttery popcorn, and playing practical jokes on others. Marilyn always made people feel welcome, brightened their countenance with her sense of humor, and astounded them with her faithful and loyal character.

She was loved by many here and abroad. Marilyn leaves an unfillable void and will be deeply missed. Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, Cliff Pollnow; sister, Joyce Harris and brother-in-law, Clifton Gregory.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Wayne Gregory; her daughter, Amber Joyce Gregory Short and her son-in-law, Andrew Short; three grandchildren, Adam, Rachel and Rebekah Short; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Willie Pollnow and Jim and Sandi Pollnow; sisters-in-law, Mary Gregory and Lenora Pyland and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A big and beautiful family! Graveside services will be 9:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Mount Carmel Cemetery with Pastor Happy Caldwell officiating.

There will also be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Agape Church; 701 Napa Valley Drive; Little Rock, AR, 72211. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
