Marjorie’s Obituary Marjorie Meeks Webb, 87, of Cabot, passed away January 3, 2019 in Little Rock. She was born September 26, 1931 in Moss Point, Mississippi to the late Reverend Benjamin Alford and Miranda Taylor Meeks. Marjorie graduated from Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Throughout her adult life, she was a bank teller, executive secretary and worked for Disability Determination for Social Security Administration clerical staff. Marjorie was very active in her church and participated in United Methodist Women’s group, vacation Bible School, food pantry and other ministries. She loved to read and travel, but really enjoyed being involved in her grandsons’ lives.

Marjorie was all about seeing new things, meeting new people and generally enjoying her life. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Major James A. Webb (United States Army Retired) and siblings, Leighton A. Meeks, Dr. Edwin A. Meeks, Eleanor M. Adee and Elizabeth M. Pierce. Survivors include her daughters, Marjorie Webb (Craig) Bowen of Lawrence, Kansas and Gael E. Cockrell of Cabot, Arkansas; grandchildren, Christopher (Katie Chonoski) Cockrell of Arnold, Maryland, James Brooks Cockrell of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Gene Pierce of Prattville, Alabama and many nieces, nephews and valued friends.

Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be made in the name of Marjorie Meeks Webb to Options Pregnancy Center, 401 S. Second St., Cabot, Arkansas 72023 or A Veteran’s Best Friend, 68 S. Pine St., Cabot, Arkansas 72023. Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
