January 23, 2019 Marilyn R. Parker ORANGE- Marilyn R. (Healy) Parker, 91, of West River Street, died at her home surrounded by three of her children on January 21, 2019. Born in Holyoke on October 16, 1927, she was a daughter of the late William and Bertha (Tower) Healy and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1945. She was married to Dane Parker, who predeceased her.

Survivors include her children, Sharon and Raymond Ledoux of Orange, Linda King of Orange, Stephen and Louise Hamel of Orange, Patricia and Mark Dery of New Salem, Kathleen Hamel of Orange, Judith and Mark Morse of Athol, and Nancy and Mark Fellows of Orange; Grandchildren, Curtis Hamel, Corey Chiasson Benjamin Ledoux, Jaysn Ledoux, Megan Glabach, Adam Dery, Christopher Whittier, Sean Hamel, Ryan Hamel, Alicia Bedard, Andre Bedard; Great Grandchildren, Natasha Ledoux, Wynter Ledoux, Darien Ledoux, Amberly Ledoux, Delaney Ledoux, Charles Ledoux, Alaina Chiasson, Madison Chiasson, and Ivy Glabach; and a brother, Robert Healy of South Hadley; and several nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, William Healy, Alice Wilkes, and Margaret “Peggy” Reel. Marilyn loved to read but her fondest memory is the heart of her family spending their summers together at the family home (farm) in Florida, MA with her father, mother, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles.

Family was so important to Marilyn that she wanted her children to build the same memories by moving away from the city life and moving to a more rural environment. When she had the opportunity, she purchased the farm to give her children the same experiences of farm living looking out over acres of land. Marilyn always loved a challenge and was one the most determined individuals!

She enjoyed researching almost any topic, learning new technology, so much that she created her own Facebook Profile at 86 years old. Marilyn also enjoyed crocheting and going to movies, especially ones with suspense. In her younger years, she liked to go bike riding and going for walks.

Marilyn loved tag sales too. The love for her children meant everything to her. Every decision she made, every conversation she had, she only wanted the best for her children.

There are no calling hours and services will be private, as will interment in South Cemetery, Orange. Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is directing the arrangements. You may offer your sympathy online at www.
