Marina L. Holcak, 93, residing in Granger, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Center for Hospice Care in South Bend, IN. She was born on July 18, 1925 in St. Louis, MO, to Phillip J. and Mary Francis (Spicuzza) Catanzaro, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 6, 1951 in St. Louis, Marina married Steven J. Holcak, Jr., who preceded her in death on July 10, 2006.

Marina is survived by three children, Joseph (Nancy) Holcak, Mary (Steve) Kolokouris, and Rose (Robert) Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Anthony Holcak, Michael Holcak, Nicholas Holcak, Anthony Kolokouris, Matthew Kolokouris, Katherine Mongomery, and Caroline Montgomery; and two great-grandchildren, Liliana Marina Holcak and Cameron Holcak. Marina’s greatest joy in life was the love she shared with Steve and raising their three children. The love grew when the grandchildren arrived, and the loving, nurturing process started for the next generation.

We will remember Mom’s deep faith and pride in being a Catholic and her endless love for us all. It’s not certain to whom Mom passed on the original spaghetti sauce recipe, but we are certain that Mom’s temper was given to Liliana Marina. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN.

Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30-10:30am on Thursday at the church prior to Mass. Palmer Funeral Homes—Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Marina may be donated to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Online condolences may be left for the Holcak family at www. palmerfuneralhomes.com.
