Marion’s Obituary Marion Dinsmore, a beautiful Oklahoma lady went to our Lord Friday evening March 1, 2019. A delightful person, she could light up a room with a smile and good humor. Marion was born July 20, 1929, to Hubert and Belle Sykora in Prague Oklahoma.
The family moved to Oklahoma City where Marion attended Central High School. She was married to Robert Swimmer in October 1949. She gave birth to their daughter Roberta Jean Swimmer.
Robert left Oklahoma moving to California to work for a real estate company, but died in an airplane crash. During her working years, Marion was employed as an executive secretary for Brittain Brothers Automotive parts distribution center in Oklahoma City. Marion married Gordon Dinsmore, a local photographer in 1961.
They celebrated many happy and adventurous years together. Marion and Gordon enjoyed the comfort and affection of many friends in the Lake Texoma area where they owned a vacation home and few lucky stray dogs who found food and shelter. The couple spent many days on their beloved Carver boat, usually in a group of fun-loving collaborators.
Good times were a staple around the Dinsmore abodes and the center of many seasonal celebrations. After the demise of her adoring husband, Marion turned her attention to Robi, and her most loved grandsons Casey and Scott Colbert. She attended all of their sports activities, and was involved in most of all of their social and educational endeavors.
Marion was preceded in death by her father and mother, Hubert and Belle Sykora, and sisters, Marguerite Kline and Imogene Roush. She is survived by her daughter Robi, and husband Vick Colbert; grandsons, Casey Colbert and Scott Colbert; great grandsons Joseph and Jackson Colbert, and children by marriage , Jim Dinsmore, Tish Dinsmore, and Craig and wife Judy Dinsmore; Granddaughters by marriage Ashley Sunderland, Amy Banu and her husband George, and Kimberley Baum Marion will be missed by all who she touched with her grace, friendship, and generosity. A special thank you and much gratitude to those who helped make Marion’s transition from this world to her eternity with Our Lord, peaceful comfortable and pain free.
Deacon Dennis Frazier who attended to her spiritual well being, and the Integris Hospice House staff, that insured her physical needs were met with loving care, dignity and compassion. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church Chapel, Yukon, OK, with interment following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
